The UK MoD confirms the crash of a Puma MK2 on sunday 11th October 2015, in Afghanistan was a result of an accident and not of hostile enemy action.

The helicopter crashed while landing at the Headquarters of Resolute Support, the NATO train, advise and assist mission in Afghanistan. The incident is currently under investigation.

The two RAF men who died after a helicopter crash on Sunday in Afghanistan have been named They are Flt Lt Alan Scott, of 33 Squadron, and Flt Lt Geraint Roberts, of 230 Squadron. Both officers were members of the Puma helicopter force based at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. Three others died in the crash – two US service members and one French civilian contractor.
